Nancy Pionk is a mediator, facilitator, trainer and executive coach. Prior to joining the DS Consulting team in 2016, Nancy served in multiple leadership roles with Community Mediation Services (CMS), an agency providing conflict resolution services and training to the Southwest Washington community. Nancy led the transition of CMS from a city agency into a nonprofit and served as its first Executive Director for six years.
A former lawyer, Nancy transitioned into this work with a deep desire to help others experience joy and meaning in their own work. Her practice is rooted in the values of service, collaboration and authenticity. As a certified coach with the esteemed Hudson Institute of Coaching, Nancy is skilled in helping individuals make sustainable changes and develop as leaders using a growth mindset. She thrives on helping others find their own authentic approach to conflict resolution and change.
Nancy has over 20 years’ experience working on a diverse variety of issues within the private sector, state and local government agencies, and nonprofits. Since 1996, Nancy has mediated and conciliated hundreds of cases including workplace, business, neighbor-to-neighbor, small claims, landlord/tenant, victim-offender, foreclosure, and police/citizen matters. She has facilitated meetings for internal workgroups as well as strategic planning sessions and leadership retreats.
Nancy designs and presents trainings on communication and conflict resolution. She is an adjunct instructor with the Carson School of Business at Washington State University Vancouver, teaching Negotiations and Principles of Leadership.
Nancy learned a lot about mediation as a “middle” child in a family of twelve.She loves hiking and biking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.She enjoys meeting up with her 11 brothers and sisters who reside throughout the U.S. and in Italy. She loves attending Thorns soccer matches and teaching dance (she holds a Blue Belt in the Nia Technique).
